Ellon Rotary welcomes in 2013 with style
MORE than 100 revellers attended Ellon Rotary’s Hogmanay Bash in the Victoria Hall on the December 31.
Attendees were piped into the hall by a hardy young lad who stood out in the freezing cold then did another stint at midnight to welcome in the New Year.
Ellon Rotary spokesman Allan Gibson told the Times that the partygoers had a fantastic time at the event..
He said: “The Victoria Hall was a superb venue for this event, with tables of approximately ten set up beautifully around the sides of the dance floor.
“Although this event was not designed as a fund raiser, there was a fierce and enjoyable competition to see who could slide a pound coin closest to a three-litre bottle of wine – the wine was donated by Jim Anderson and duly won by Lara Anderson, who in turn put it up for auction and the sum of £175 was raised overall. A good return for the fun everyone had.
“The Andy Kain Band provided excellent music and entertainment throughout the evening, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. All in all a great way for kindred spirits to see the Old Year out and welcome in the New Year. with a hearty meal and tipple of choice.”
