Hipsway’s Skinner back on the road
AN evolving collective of Glasgow musicians, based around the music of Scots music veteran Grahame Skinner, are to make their Lemon Tree debut in Aberdeen.
After a 10-year gap, Grahame decided to return to the stage last year and will play the city centre venue for the first time tomorrow (Friday).
The impetus was a guest appearance with old chum and Glasgow crooner James Grant where they performed Hipsway hits Ask the Lord and Broken Years.
As the singer of Hipsway, he came to prominence on the Scottish music scene back in 1985 with the release of their debut album, which included the singles Broken Years, Ask the Lord, and The Honeythief.
Joining Skinner will be guitarist Douglas MacIntyre, drummer Gordon Wilson and bass player Campbell Owens.
Tickets for the night are available online at www.boxofficeaberdeen.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.
