Major tourism event to be hosted by Fyvie Castle

THE national tourism organisation VisitScotland is hosting a free event to discuss tourism and explore the opportunities to help grow the industry in Aberdeen City and Shire at historic Fyvie Castle.

VisitScotland Regional Director, Shona Anderson, will be joined by the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Partnership and other colleagues from various VisitScotland departments.

The event will see a series of presentations from:

•The new chief executive of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, Marc Crothall

•VisitScotland’s Insights Team, looking at the latest trends and figures and how this affects tourism in Aberdeen City and Shire.

•VisitScotland will discuss the latest Explore Scotland campaign - the biggest ever regional marketing push, highlighting how Aberdeen City and Shire is being promoted and the opportunities for businesses to get involved.

•The newly formed Tourism Partnership for Aberdeen City and Shire

Shona Anderson said: “This event will provide us with a chance to discuss opportunities for growth and the future for Scottish tourism and, in particular, tourism in Aberdeen City and Shire, over the coming years.

“We want to hear local views through our workshops and talks which are designed to explore how we can all help the industry grow in Aberdeen City and Shire. I am hopeful that the event will have a great turnout.”

The event takes place at Fyvie Castle from 11am to 4pm on Thursday, October 11. Visit http://aberdeencityandshire.eventbrite.com/ for the full agenda and to register for the event, registration closes on October 10.
