“Rural Oscars” support call
Gordon MP Malcolm Bruce is calling on local communities across Aberdeenshire to show their support and nominate local producers and businesses for this year’s Countryside Alliance awards, also known as the ‘Rural Oscars’.
The 8th annual awards are now open for public nomination until October 29. The Countryside Alliance awards were borne out of a need to support and promote rural communities and celebrate people going the extra mile to ensure that rural Britain’s food and farming industry, small businesses, traditional skills, forward thinking enterprises and most of its people can flourish.
The MP said: “These Awards are an excellent way to promote the local businessmen and women who are working hard to keep our local economy thriving - in some cases making a national name for themselves.
“It would be fantastic if people could get behind our businesses and nominate them for the awards so we can tell the whole of Britain a positive story about our corner of the country.”
