Work under way on Aberdeen bypass
WORK finally got under way on the Aberdeen bypass on Monday.
Transport Minister Keith Brown visited the North-east to inspect ground preparations near Parkhill and was caught up in a delay caused by a broken-down lorry at the notorious Haudagain roundabout in Aberdeen.
The investigations, costing £1 million, are being carried out by a team of engineers and are expected to take several months.
The £653 million bypass scheme was given the go-ahead in 2009, but has been repeatedly delayed by legal battles.
Opponents lost their appeal to the Supreme Court last month.
Soil sampling has already been carried out in recent months on the A90 dual carriageway project between Balmedie and Tipperty.
