BETTER Read Books in Ellon will be hosting a special evening event in celebration of World Book Night on April 23.

As part of the event, members of the public who are keen readers are invited to donate a book of their choice to those who do not have easy access to them. The initiative was launched in 2011, and is anticipated to involve hundreds of thousands of books being donated and passed on,

Bookshop Owner Bill Kelly said: ‘We hope to have a number of givers attending to read short sections of their chosen book, and will be encouraging others to read their favourite poem or share a snippet from their favourite book. We will be providing refreshments and invite everyone to come along either to participate in the readings or just to listen and enjoy.”

The event takes place at Better Read on Ythan Terrace between 7pm and 9pm.
