AT the recent Annual General Meeting of Ellon Community Council, chairperson Moira Muir paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of the group's members.
Addressing the meeting, which was held in the town on Monday evening, Mrs Muir said: "Community councils are not one man shows and chairpersons could not do the work without the support of all the members, so to each and every one of you I thank you
most sincerely for all your hard work, commitment and support throughout last year."

She added: "Thanks also to our local councillors for their continued support."

Mrs Muir was re-elected as chairperson at the meeting while Liz Troup retained the position of vice chairperson. Sandy McDougal was elected to the vacant post of secretary and Sandra Topp replaced Elma Hay as treasurer.

Two new members - Alasdair McRae and Mark Grant - joined the group's ranks, but with great sadness, community councillors also bid farewell to two longstanding members - Louis Thomson and Jim Gallacher.

Mr Thomson, who has served for six years, and Mr Gallacher, who has served for 15 years, were both presented with a wallet as a token of appreciation for their efforts.

On behalf of the group, Mrs Muir told the men: "Your presence and commitment will be sadly missed. I thank you both for all the hard work you have done and wish you good health and a relaxing future."
