Two intrepid young journalists have joined the Ellon Times reporting team.
Jennifer McLeay (22), who hails from Ellon and Kenny Hutchison (25), whose family recently moved from Aberdeen to Inverurie, are already pounding the streets looking for stories of local significance for our readers.
Jennifer was brought up in Ell
on, then educated at Ellon Primary and attended Ellon Academy before studying at Robert Gordon University where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree with honours in Media Studies. Jennifer may be a familiar face to some who enjoy Indian food - she worked at Nosheen Tandoori and also Friends Coffee shop while she was a student at RGU. Her claim to fame came about after she did an Interview with Katie Price when on placement at Radio Forth in Edinburgh. Jennifer's hobbies include singing and listening to various genres of music. She took part in the Emmerdale Extravaganza for more than 4 years helping to raise money for the charities, The Anthony Nolan Trust and UCAN. She was also a member of the Rosaline Hendry School of Highland Dance for 17 years.
Kenny was educated in Banff, and grew up there. When he was 17, he moved into Aberdeen to study History and Politics at Aberdeen university, achieving a Masters Degree. Since graduating Kenny has worked in a range of administrative positions. His hobbies include strategy-gaming, badminton, reading non-fiction, listening to obscure 80s music and following current affairs.
