Ellon's Nearly New Sales continue to raise vital cash for good causes.
The next ENNS event for baby and children's toys, equipment and clothes will be held at the town's Victoria Hall on Saturday, September 20 from 1-3 pm.

ENNS have been run by a group of Ellon mums twice yearly in March and September for several ye
ars, providing local parents with a tried and tested outlet to sell outgrown their baby's and children's outgrown clothes and toys.

At the same time they are able to buy top quality goods at a fraction of their original cost. Sellers receive 70% of the total value of their sales and the ENNS group retain 30% of the revenue, which is then shared amongst nominated local charities.

Profits from the September sale will be split between Ellon Young Carers, the Turriff Women's Refuge and the local area Befriending service.

One of the organisers, Susan Caddell, explained: "Ellon Nearly New Sales make sense for everyone involved especially in the current 'credit crunch' when cash is tight.

"Parents can buy and sell their baby and children's clothes, toys and equipment that have plenty of life left in them but are simply outgrown. All goods on sale are in nearly new condition and some of them are brand new, so there are plenty of bargains to be had - recycling at its best!

"The people of Ellon and surrounding areas support these sales strongly and as a result of their generosity, we're been able to donate approximately £500 per sale between two or three charities or voluntary organisations.

"Over the period we've been running these sales, we're delighted to have been able to contribute over £3,000 to a variety local groups including Ellon Health Centre's Speech Therapy Unit, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary's Eye Clinic, Peterhead Family Centre, Turriff Women's Refuge and Grampian Riding for the Disabled."
