During the last week a variety of road traffic offences have been detected, these include a 43 year old male being reported to the Procurator Fiscal regarding drink driving following a collision on the B999 Tarves to Methlick Road, this male was also found in possession of a controlled drug.
A 19 year old male was reported for drink driving following being stopped on the A90 close to Ellon. A number of other offences including driving with no insurance and no seatbelts were also found and dealt with. Anti social driving and speeding co
ntinue to be the most common complaints and these are a priority in our area.
A number of vehicle owners in the Oldmeldrum area have been reported regarding excise offences.
Of the cases still being investigated, a diesel theft from vehicles took place at Foveran sometime between 15 January and 18 January. On two separate occasions between the 19 January and the 21 January a fence was cut and a large quantity of diesel was siphoned from tanks within premises on the Tipperty Industrial Estate. A men's mountain bike was stolen from outside Forbouys, Station Road, Ellon on 23 January 2010. A window was also broken at Park Crescent, Ellon, sometime overnight between 16 January and 17 January.
A large window was vandalised on Friday 15 January at Key Store, Market Square, Oldmeldrum.
Grampian Police have seen an increase in diesel thefts from commercial properties across Aberdeenshire, I would take this opportunity to remind people to be vigilant when it comes to security and if any persons or vehicles are seen acting suspicious to report this to the Police.
