ELLON slipped further behind pace setters Dalziel and Whitecraigs in the promotion race in National League One, as their home game with East Kilbride was called off last Saturday.
The Meadows team are still in third place with a game in hand of the second placed Glasgow side, but 14 points in arrears, to the frustration of head coach Clint Parsons.

''Losing out to the weather has been most exasperating. This is the third t
ime we have had a game called off,'' said the South African who still believes his side can hunt down Whitecraigs in its bid to bring Premiership rugby back to the area.

''It's just a question of keeping winning, but hopefully we might get some help from elsewhere,'' he said.

This weekend the Aberdeenshire play host to Livingston who after a good start to its campaign has fallen into free fall.
Parsons was, however, mindful of the fact that the West Lothian side had beaten Ellon earlier in the season.

''I just hope the 34 - 20 reverse at Almond Park does not come home to haunt us. On current form we look to have the edge, particularly as we have not lost at home,'' said Parsons.

The Livingston game is the last of the year with competitive rugby being suspended until January 9, followed by the Six Nations tournament in February.
