FORMARTINE United have netted a new sponsorship deal with a North east transport firm to potentially drive them towards Scottish Football Association membership.
Central Coaches Aberdeen have signed a three year deal with the Pitmedden side, that will see the company plough £40,000 into the club, aiding United to achieve their SFA status.

Such status would allow the Highland League side to compete in the
Scottish Cup, but only if the pitch and surrounds are upgraded to meet SFA criteria.

Formartine United's Commercial Director Peter Maclean commented: "I am delighted that Central Coaches Aberdeen has agreed to become a main sponsor of the club. They are a company who offer a high quality service, set very high standards at value for money prices and have fantastic staff. I will be delighted if we as a club can mirror their success and standards."

Mr Maclean added: "It's a major coup for the club to have a company like them as one of our main sponsors."
The club lounge will be renamed in honour of their new sponsors, with a plaque set to be revealed at their next home game with Rothes on Saturday.

Lynne Smith, Managing Director of Central Coaches Aberdeen was delighted to provide United with the sponsorship.
She said: "Our relationship with Formartine United began when the club entered the Highland League and became our customer.

We quickly realised that the club was going places and that Atholl Cadger had appointed the right people in to key positions. When Peter approached us about the deal we were delighted to accept and are looking to develop a long term relationship with the club."

Lynne indicated that the ambition of the club was something that drew Central Coaches Aberdeen to Formartine, and considered the possibility of Scottish Cup football at North Lodge Park to be an exciting prospect.

She added: "It's great to be involved from the start and I am delighted we are helping secure SFA membership for the club that will bring more Scottish Cup football to the local area. It is something we can all look back on for years with pride."
