Midnight football set to kick off

THE Midnight Football Tournament 2010 is about to kick off for young people aged between 12 and 18 years old (also 11yrs old if they are attending secondary school).
The scheme is being run in conjunction with Aberdeenshire Council Street Sports, Aberdeenshire Council Community Learning and Development and Grampian Police and a representative of these organisations will be present.

The tournament will run on Fridays, from March 5 to May 21, for ten weeks (excluding April 2, 9 - Easter Holidays). It will be held on the astro turf football pitch at The Meadows playing fields in Ellon and will run from 8pm to 10pm each night.

The tournament will run locally in which the winners will then go into Aberdeen for the regional finals.

It is free and open to youngsters that are in 1st year to 6th year at academy - they can enter as a team or individually. (maximum eight players per team)

For an application form please contact Pc Ivancic on 07824491106 or the Youth Office, Ythan Centre on 01358 725193. Forms should be returned to Pc Ian Ivancic at Ellon Police Office or Ythan Centre by Friday March, 5. Applications will be accepted on the night of the tournament if prior agreement has been made with Pc Ian Ivancic.
