A FORMER Ellon Academy pupil is on her way to achieving her goal of being a top women's footballer.

Natalie Ross (19) has recently signed for the famous Arsenal Ladies Football Club following a successful spell in the Scottish game with Hibern
ian Ladies Football Club.

Natalie started playing for Ellon Meadows Boys team in 1997 before moving on to play for Aberdeen Girls at U13 and U15 level.

For the last four years she has been involved with the Scottish Youth teams Under15, Under17 and Under 19's, including Scottish School Girls.
The Ellon ace has just completed her third year for the Scotland U19s and has racked up more than 30 international caps, including seven with the Scottish Ladies Senior A squad.

For the last four years she has travelled a 350-mile trip, sometimes three times a week, to play football at the highest level in Scotland.
First with Hibs Girls U17's and for the last 2 seasons with the Senior Hibs Ladies Team.

There she cemented her place in centre midfield almost immediately and although suffering an injury, which saw her sidelined for six months in her first season, returned to help Hibs complete a 100 per cent winning record in her first season.

Natalie enjoyed great success at Hibernian winning two league titles, a Scottish Cup medal and a League Cup Medal at U17 level and went on to win one Premier League title, two Scottish Cup Medals, a League cup medal and also competed in two UEFA Cup campaigns for the Senior Hibernian Ladies Team.

Her success didn't go unnoticed by the Arsenal Ladies Coaching staff and because of this she was invited to sign for the Arsenal A squad at the end of last season whilst Arsenal put her through her Degree at Hereford University.

There she will study a Sports Studies degree and hopes to work in sport after graduation. Natalie has had a great deal of interest from American Colleges but she chose to join Arsenal and play alongside household names like Scotland's Julie Fleeting MBE, England's Kelly Smith MBE and also joins up with Mintlaw's Kim Little who signed for Arsenal midway through last season.
