Bairns Summer Games

A SERIES of events will be held over the summer holidays for Out of School Clubs across Aberdeenshire.

The Bairns Summer Games is aimed at engaging those children who attend the clubs in a range of fun physical activities.

Deer Park in Ellon will host an event on Wednesday, July 25.

Each of the days will see the children take part in a range of activities including an obstacle run, dodge ball, dress-up relay, turbo javelin, hurl the haggis, basketball, throw the wellie, standing long jump, beat the goalie, a ladder challenge, three-legged race and rounders.

There will also be a cross-country run and a number of team activities such as tug of war, fruit and spoon race and sack race, followed by a prize-giving ceremony to finish the day. Around 350 children are expected to take part.
