Balmedie Gala continues to go from strength to strength, with the verdict on Saturday’s event rating it the best in years.

Large crowds filled the school grounds for a feast of entertainement, activities and stalls galore.

Gala chairperson Zara Wilke said they had raised more than £1,000 with the prospect of the total increasing.

She added: “The event was a great success and the public are saying it has been the
 best in years.

“We have yet to total up all the donations but so far we have raised over a £1000.

“We had lots to do from pony rides, archery, bouncy castles and crafts stalls. We even had a visit from Buzz Lightyear and Dora the Explorer.

“We hope to get more of the public involved for next year and make it an even bigger event .”

The winners of the five-a-side football tournament was Enter Ma Lamb who received their trophy at the opening ceremony.

Various organisations were represented at the gala and stalls were busy throughout the day.
