Thousands of local residents attended the Ellon Bonfire and Firework Display at the weekend.

Luckily the rain stayed away for the event that was organised by Ellon Round Table.

Speaking to the Times Round Table member, George Stewart, said: “It went really well, we have had lots of positive reviews on Facebook and from people on the night.

“This year we managed to bring back our own barbecue which helped to raise extra money for local charities.”

Five schools from the area made guys in the hope that theirs would take centre place on the bonfire.

Auchterellon, Ellon Primary, Meiklemill, Auchnagatt and Arnage schools made eight guys, with Meiklemill winning on the night.
