Villagers are making preparations for a second celebration of Kemnay.
The event, highlighting local talent, will be held in the village hall on Saturday, September 14, from 10am until 4pm.
The group behind the celebration want to encourage and recognise the talents of those who live or have lived in and around Kemnay.
Last year’s event was intended to be a one-off, but proved so popular that organisers decided to put together another one this year.
The theme this time will be Pig Trot when people are given a number and display a pig made out of wood, knitting or other material on their property.
Vera Walker, one of the organisers, said: “There is a lot of talent in the village and although last year’s celebration was supposed to be a one-off, we felt that it was so popular we should run it again.
“There will be plenty for everyone to see and do on the day itself and we are hoping as many people as possible will take part.”
The celebration will include art displays, fancy apron designs, transient art, a drumming session and there will also be a singing segment at lunchtime which will feature three local girls, accompanied by Ruby Mackay.
There will be no charge for lunch or refreshments, but donations will be welcome.
