The Rotary Club of Ellon welcomed Alison Steadman and Mo Morrison, Rotary Club of Arbroath members, as guest speakers on Wednesday, April 3.
Their chosen subject was the Nyumbani Project in Kenya.
Alison explained she and her team had visited Nyumbani village on ten previous occasions.
The purpose of these visits was to help villagers build 100 shelters (including cooking shelters), help refurbish the Nyumbani Home (a home for orphans), help refurbish the Kawanngware Medical Clinic and cottages for new mothers. All of these projects being funded entirely by donations.
At the end of their visit, the Rotary team donated £17,950 to be used for the establishment of a Tuberculosis Testing Centre in Nyumbani village.
