Organisers of Tarves Flower Show hailed the success of the event on Saturday.

The show, which was the 65th, was held in the Melvin Hall and attracted a steady stream of visitors.

Show chairperson Sheila Ewen said: “As usual we had a good turn-out of people through the door in the afternoon. The tea ladies were certainly kept busy.

“The other thing which was very encouraging was the number of new competitors we had entering vegetables, flowers, baking and handicrafts into the show.”
