The annual vintage tractor working day at Aden Country Park should prove to be the best yet.
On Sunday (September 30) there will be a rare chance to see a wide variety of vintage tractors ranging from the 1930s to the 1960s. Other attractions include an opportunity to see the newly-digitised Morrison Collection of local rural photographs, traditional Scottish music by the Buchan Heritage Players, access to the award-winning Aberdeenshire Farming Museum and Hareshowe Farm, and a chance to visit the newly-opened Aden Shop.
The annual vintage tractor day will be held at Hareshowe Working Farm, Aden Country Park, Mintlaw, from 12.15-4.15pm
An impressive variety of vintage tractors and will demonstrate how ploughing, harrowing, cultivating, ridging, seeding, rolling, scarifying and shimming were carried out. Weather permitting, it is also hoped to have the opportunity to demonstrate one of the major tasks of the Buchan farmer’s year, threshing.
