A round-up of some North-east rural meetings

Fetternear SWI president Elsie Murray welcomed Premnay ladies to conduct the business meeting and provide entertainment.

The committee remains the same: president Elsie Murray; vice-president Jane Fish; secretary Dorothy Grant; treasurer Iris keith; points secretary Elsie Aiken; press secretary Margaret Salter.

Premnay president Pat Duncan introduced her talented band of ladies to entertain with singing, recipes, quiz, poems and a lovely Gaelic solo.

Lorna Skea winning the Souter Salver for most points of the year. Competitions: Flower of the Month 1 Lorna Skea; 2 Elma Riddell; 3 Elsie Murray. 4 Months Syllabus 1 Dorothy Grant; 2 Betty Lawie; 3 Elsie Murray; Animal Photo 1 Lorna Skea; 2 Elsie Murray; 3 Elsie Ailen.

Iris Keith ran the raffle and a lovely tea was served by Lyn Stevenson and Margaret Salter. Elsie Aiken closed the meeting with a vote of thanks.

Kintore SWRI

Kemnay SWRI recently held their annual Business Meeting, conducted by members of Cluny SWRI.

Mrs Sylvia Hendry gave a most interesting talk on her trip to India, she then presented the annual prizes and the Annual Points Cup won by Mrs Elma Adams. The new committee is: President: Elizabeth Forrest; Vice President: Dot Wink; Secretary: Alice Downie; Treasurer: Lena Anderson; Committee: Irene Tewnion, Irene Clark, Emily Innes and Bess Whyte.

The competition winners were as follows: Three Months Syllabus: 1: Pauline Jaffray; 2: Elma Adams; 3: Alice Downie; Soft Toy (to be donated): 1: Thelma Brownie; 2: Elma Adams; 3: Pauline Jaffray. Everyone enjoyed a welcome cup of tea and Lena Anderson gave the vote of thanks.
