Around the North-east rurals

At Esslemont SWRI, President Mrs Helen Smillie opened this month’s meeting by welcoming all members and introduced Mr Pat Edwards.

He gave a very entertaining talk to members on “Change” which was enjoyed by everyone who attended the meeting.

The competitions were judged and the winners were announced as follows:

Individual Quiche: First Helen Smillie, second Anne Davidson, third Jean Winterbottom.

Flower of the Month: First Bunty Mutch, second Helen Smillie, third Jean Winterbottom.

Favourite small vase: First Bunty Mutch, second Jean Winterbottom, third Lynne Copping.

This was followed by the business meeting, tea and raffle. The vote of thanks was given by Nancy Bruce.

Mrs Helen Smillie thanked all members and wished everyone a safe journey home.

At Ardallie SWRI, the ladies from Bogbrae SWRI attended to the business which included the appointment of a new committee.

The committee is: Honorary president A Adamson; secretary M Duncan; treasurer K Anderson; press C Arthur.

Competitions were judged and the winners were: 6 Months Syllabus- 1 M Duncan; 2 M Daniel; 3 Adamson.

2 American Muffins - 1 A Adamson; 2 M Duncan; 3 M Daniel.

The car treasure hunt will be held on Friday, June 20. All those taking part will leave Ardallie School between 6.30 and 7pm. It is hoped there will be a good turn-out.
