An Ellon engineering company are about to unveil what is believed to be a first for the industry at a major event in Aberdeen later this month.

Lifting specialists Power Jacks have designed pioneering subsea equipment which will be showcased at Subsea Expo in the city Aberdeen from February 11-13.

The company’s integrated U-Series range of screw jacks and bevel gearboxes is believed to be the first of its kind for the oil and gas sector.

The innovative technologies, which are designed and delivered from Power Jacks’ manufacturing facility in Ellon, can be connected together to make full jacking systems.

Bruce Bultitude, the firm’s chairman and managing director, said: “The U-Series has primarily been engineered for oil and gas, and encompasses our established and reliable technologies combined with our track record for delivering linear motion and mechanical rotary power transmission in subsea applications.

“We have already successfully used the range for pig launchers, subsea clamps and valve actuators.”

Power Jacks specialises in producing world-class industrial lifting and positioning equipment including screw jacks, actuators and lead screws.
