Ellon’s Hogmanay spectacular has been given a boost from a fundraising disco.
More than £1000 was raised from the event on Friday night in the town’s Station Hotel in aid of Gig at the Brig 2013.
Ellon Events arranged the disco to signal a major push for ticket sales ahead of the big night.
Organisers were delighted with the success of the evening.
Committee member Kevin Coghill said: “Well over 100 people attended, all of whom seemed to have enjoyed themselves and the full dance floor was testament to that later in the evening.
“Ticket sales and income from the raffle meant that the exercise itself has generated comfortably over £1000, which has gone in to the communal event fund.
“A superb array of prizes were donated and we on the committee would like to thank everyone who was kind enough to donate.”
Mr Coghill also thanked special guest, Gothenburg great Doug Rougvie, who drew the raffle, and DJ for the evening, Ian McHattie, for his musical entertainment.
The next opportunity for buying Gig At The Brig tickets will be at the Ellon Christmas light switch on held on November 23.
