Preparations are well underway at Thainstone Mart, Inverurie for the return of one of the leading livestock events in the Scottish farming autumn calendar.

The Thainstone Spectacular Show and Sale, organised by Aberdeen & Northern Marts, part of the ANM Group, will see the event move to an earlier date of Friday, August 21, with a new format and will once again be sponsored by Clydesdale Bank.

Judge for this year will be Gwyn Edwards, Corwen, Wales with a total of £2,800 prize money and a range of trophies up for grabs.

The event date, which will for the first time be a Friday, has been changed due to consigner demand in order to coincide more closely with the end of the summer show season and to run alongside the ever-popular Friday sales at Thainstone.

As one of the largest show and sales in the Scottish agricultural calendar, the Spectacular provides the ideal opportunity for buyers from all over the UK to view the high standard of livestock exhibited in the North East.

In previous years, exhibited animals showcased at this event have gone on to win championships including the Countryside Live Show.

Entries for exhibition animals close on Friday, August 14.

Entry forms are available on the ANM Group website at www.anmgroup.co.uk .
