Councillors at the Formartine Area Committee have granted full planning permission for the creation of new Boarding Kennels at Moss Croft, Slains.

The plans went before councillors on Tuesday, August 22 and they were unanimously granted.

The site of the new kennels is located around 7km north east of Ellon.

The plans consist of a single storey building to accommodate ten individual kennels.

It will also include a reception area, office, isolation areas, storage space, a kitchen, laundry room and plant room.

The ten kennel units are expected to accommodate up to 20 dogs at most and each one will have is own external “garden” area to allow the dogs to get outside.

The kennel plan also included an outline for customer car parking space.

The application received a total of 14 representations - 12 in support and two objections.

The objections outlined concern about noise, unsuitable access points and no demand for a boarding kennel.

A Noise Impact Assessment was proposed for the site prior to the meeting and CSP Acoustics will be installed before the kennel is officially opened.
