The Ellon Rotary Associates have presented the Ellon First Responders with a donation of £1,300.

The Rotary Associates organised a raffle with tickets sold prior to and on the day of the Ellon Pedal Car Race.

All of the money raised by raffle sales was donated to the Ellon First Responders on Thursday, October 5.

Rotary Associates member, Fiona Campbell, said: “The group was formed 18 months ago and this was our first major project.

“We organised it all and decided as a group to choose a local cause to donate the money to. We chose the Ellon First Responders as they are a relatively new group and this was a good way to help raise awareness for them.

“We would like to thank the Ellon community for their support and generosity, and also for buying tickets and donating items.”

Ellon First Responders co-ordinator, Cheryl Jones, said: “On behalf of the team we are very grateful for such a big donation.

“We are now a full team of 20 volunteers and recently received uniforms so the funds are essential to keep running a big group.

“We have also been called to various locations outwith Ellon so money will also go to running of our car and more equipment.

“Local support is really important to us and we have a fundraising night at the Station hotel on November 18 with The Bloody Marys. Tickets can be purchased by contacting us on Facebook or from the hotel.
