Former staff, parents and pupils of Meiklemill School are being invited to put on their dancing shoes to celebrate the school’s 40th anniversary.

A 40th Celebration Ceilidh Disco will be held at the Station Hotel in Ellon on Saturday, November 11 and parents, former parents, staff and ex-pupils are all very welcome to attend.

Tickets are £10 per person and are available to purchase at the school office or through the Meiklemill’s 40th Birthday Facebook page.

Deputy head teacher, Lorna Keith, said that ticket sales are “going well but we’d love to see some more people joining us on the night”.

“At the Ceilidh Disco we have a set planned from a ceilidh band put together especially for the event and their practice sessions have been heard, after the school bell has rung.”

Lorna added: “One parent, on hearing the practice going on couldn’t believe how good the music sounded, actually wondering if it was a CD playing, so we’re looking forward to filling the floor to that and to other music from 1977 onwards, as provided by ‘A Touch of Class’ discos.”
