TWO local children who went missing on Bennachie on Monday, (July 30) were traced safe and well later the same day.
Lara and Mathew Rydlewicz were reported missing after failing to turn up as expected at 4.30pm at the Bennachie Centre. The brother and sister had been dropped off at the car park before setting off on a cycle trail at the popular Garioch landmark.
However when they failed to turn up as expected at the Visitor Centre, the alarm was raised and a search was initiated to trace the youngsters. Fortunately they were found safe and well, after apparently getting lost in the surrounding countryside.
Grampian Police would like to pass on their thanks to members of the public, the mountain rescue service and air rescue partners who were all involved in tracing Lara and Mathew and ensuring they got home safe and well.
