Young Chef of the Year at Rotary Club of Ellons recent competition: winner in the middle: Katie Leigh Emslie

Five keen chefs cooked up a storm in a bid to win the title of the Young Chef of the Year at Ellon Rotary Club’s recent competition held at Ellon Academy.

Imagination and culinary skill were on display and judges Craig Wilson of Eat on the Green, Lesley Kemp of Ythanvale and Derek Ritchie of sponsors Costcutters found the standard of the dishes produced to be exceedingly high – particularly in view of the age of the competitors.

Katie Leigh Emslie was crowned the winner, and she will now travel through to Aberdeen to take part in the District Final, with a chance to go on to the Regional Final in Glasgow later in the year.
