An Aberdeenshire community trust is expanding its business.
Udny Community Trust Company Ltd has announced the opening of its new office and exhibition space in Pitmedden.
An official community opening will take place on Sunday (November 17) from 2pm – 4pm.
It will be held at the neighbouring Pitmedden Bar with small group tours being conducted by the Directors of Udny Community Trust Company. It is open to the general public.
The meeting and exhibition space, along with the new office, will provide a focus for the activities of the Trust Company and other community groups.
Refurbishment of the new community space has been made possible by generous support from the Big Lottery’s Growing Community Assets Programme.
The Trust Company exists to support community development and secure as much community benefit as possible from the community’s wholly-owned wind turbine.
The new home for the company will make these activities much more visible and support more people to become more involved and engaged in community activities.
Community groups in the area are invited to use this new opportunity to showcase their work, promote their events and activities, recruit new members and develop new ideas together.
The meeting room or exhibition space will be bookable free of charge to local groups and the trust company’s development officer Eleanor Morris will be in attendance to help people make the most of the opportunity.
The trust company was founded in 2009 and a range of local organisations and groups have since been awarded funding.
