Ellon & District councillor Gillian Owen visited the new Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Ellon at the weekend.

She visited with her own recycling and said: “Residents will see changes from the previous centre, many lessons have been learnt from previous openings.

“You will see it is much bigger, easier to get around and I encourage you all to continue recycling either at the new centre or through your food bin or blue top at home.”

Whilst visiting the centre she took the opportunity to inspect the roads.

Gillian added: “I have noticed a deterioration since remedial work was carried out at latter part of last year.

“Now that the Council has taken over the management of the estate I have contacted Officer to ask for repairs to be undertaken, I hope this will be carried out in the next few weeks.”

In conclusion Gillian said: “I shall be asking Officers to monitor the junction at Castle Road as I do foresee problems with traffic flow.”
