An Ellon and District Councillor has called for residents to keep an eye out for road closures throughout the town during the summer holidays.
The notice comes after Councillor Gillian Owen spotted incorrect road closures on Station Road and Commercial Road last week.
A Roads Engineer responded to the councillor explaining that major mistakes were made with the advance signs and that the wrong dates and locations were used and that the signs had now been taken down.
Councillor Gillian Owen said: “It is unfortunate when these types of errors occur but we are all human.
“As soon as this error was drawn to the council’s attention it has been corrected and I think now everyone should be fully aware of the road works timetable for the next few weeks.”
The following upcoming resurfacing works will be carried out in the town:
Western Place/Barratt Drive: July 31 - August 2.
Patey Road: July 31 - August 2.
Commercial Road: It is likely that the road will not be closed and that the work will be carried out under traffic lights: August 4-8.
Station Road: August 6-15.
Bridge Street will also be closed at the junction of Station Road on Sunday, August 3 also for resurfacing works.
