Following another successful year, the Association of Buchan Crafters held its first craft fair of 2016 in Mintlaw public hall recently.

2015 marked the association’s 20th anniversary and to mark the occasion they wanted to raise funds for a local charity.

They chose Theatre Modo, which uses circus skills to engage young people across Aberdeenshire and to help them change their lives for the better.

A cheque for £500 was presented to a number of youngsters from Modo who attended the recent fair.

The Association of Buchan Crafters was formed in June 1995 after it was recognised that crafters were working away at home, in workshops or garages using their crative abilities to make some fantastic products, but had no ready outlet to sell their finished product.

The ABC was founded to address such issues and currently boasts 30 members from across Aberdeenshire.

The next craft fair will take place on April 16 in the Melvin Hall, Tarves before a return to Buchan when they will be at the Ritchie Hall in Strichen on April 30.

All are welcome to go along and support them.
