A young man killed in a two-vehicle crash on the B9001 Inverurie-Rothienorman road has been named by police.

George Dow’s van was in collision with a car at Mains of Glack around 6.50pm on Saturday.

The family of Mr Dow, 28, from the Rothienorman area, said they were “devastated at the sudden and tragic loss”.

The other driver, a 39-year-old woman, was seriously injured. The other occupants - a man, 39, and two children, aged nine and seven - were released from hospital after treatment for minor injuiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
