NORTH-EAST Liberal Democrat MSP Alison McInnes has urged residents to take part in this year’s National Road Safety Week by cutting their speed.
Road Safety Week is an initiative run by the charity Brake and takes place between Monday, November 19 and Sunday, November 25.
Mrs McInnes said: “The week aims to raise awareness of the importance of making it safer for people to walk and cycle. Drivers will be encouraged to slow down to 20mph around schools, homes and shops. Our councils have done a great deal in this regard with Twenty’s Plenty zones. It does save lives.”
