Police Scotland is appealing for information after a quantity of lead was stolen from the roof of New Deer Primary School.

The theft is believed to have happened overnight between Tuesday May 31, 2016 and Wednesday June 1, and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Local Sergeant Scott Massie said: “We are following positive lines of enquiry in relation to this crime, however I would encourage anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch. Of particular interest is a transit van that was seen in the area during the night in question.

“New Deer is fortunate to have low levels of crime, so when incidents such as this do happen they will not be tolerated.”

Anyone with information should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 to remain anonymous.
