The festive ‘Safer Streets’ campaign was launched this week by Police Scotland.
Organised through funding from the Aberdeenshire Community Safety Partnership, the operation aims to reduce incidents involving violence and anti-social behaviour.
Around 50 additional officers will be taking to the streets during the campaign.
Police will also organise foot patrols as part of the operation working with agencies including Aberdeenshire Council, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Street Pastors and NHS Grampian.
Patrols will be carried out in areas including Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Inverurie, Stonehaven, Banff and Banchory.
Local Area Commander for Aberdeenshire South Chief Inspector Richard Craig said: “Our message is clear; we want people to enjoy themselves but to do so in a safe and responsible manner.”
