Deaf Theatre Club launched

SOLAR Bear have launched a campaign to publicise the Deaf Theatre Club, and are asking you to help spread the word about the project to deaf people throughout Scotland.

Deaf Theatre Club is at the His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen on September 21 and 22. The Deaf Theatre Club will be officially launched at a signed performance of the National Theatre of Scotland’s “Macbeth” on 27 June 2012 at the Tramway, Glasgow. Deaf Theatre Club will be then launched at special events in Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Edinburgh, Inverness and Kirkcaldy over the next six months. The Aberdeen Launch at His Majesty’s will be a signed performance of “The Cone Gatherers” on Friday, September 21, at 7.30pm and there will be a Theatre Tour on Saturday, September 22, from 10.30 – 11.45am with tickets priced at £5, and a NDCS Drama Workshop, also on Saturday, September 22, at the Lemon Tree from 11am to 2pm.

Deaf Theatre Club comprises of signed evening performances for adults and for children, drama workshops for 7 – 12 year olds, run in association with the National Deaf Children’s Society. Solar Bear will also train theatre staff in basic British Sign Language and deaf awareness before the event.
