ELLON’S pooches enjoyed a rare festive treat on Wednesday of last week with the annual Doggie Christmas Party in the town’s Victoria Hall.
More than £200 was raised for the Scottish SPCA from the popular canine event.
Organiser Myra Stewart said: “It went very well indeed and was very enjoyable as usual. “This was our 21st one, and we had 20 dogs taking part.
“The dogs got their presents and received ice cream, as did the owners and kids. Then we had a bit of a party after that. There were lots of newcomers, which was nice. It’s always good to see new faces.”
The proceeds from the party will be handed over at a presentation in Aberdeen.
Obedience classes start again in January, catering from puppies to older dogs, and involving all breeds.
Myra added: “We never turn anyone away. We’ve had great support from helpers. Everyone in the club lends a hand, and is willing to help with fundraising.”
