Aberdeen FC assistant manager Tony Docherty kept Ellon Rotarians fully engaged as he described how passion, leadership and motivation helped the Pittodrie club win their first trophy in 19 years.

Tony gave a brief career history, highlighting how his long-term association with Derek McInnes has shaped his decisions.

He is recognised as one of the best coaches in the game and someone with undoubted man-management skills on the training ground to match his technical abilities.

Winning the cup last year in front of 42,000 fans then parading it in front of the 100,000 people in Aberdeen is something he’ll never forget and wants to repeat.

Rotary members put Tony on the spot with some specific questions, pointedly asking about the dip in form and how to create and keep talented players.
