Children, staff and families at Auchnagatt and District Pre-school Play Association have been delighted by the newly opened outdoor classroom at their playgroup.
The project was made possible by a grant from the Auchnagatt Area Wind Turbine Benefit Scheme along with the fundraising efforts of the group supported by the communities of Arnage and Auchnagatt.
The children have been out enjoying their new space at Arnage School every day, making the most of all the equipment including mud kitchen, puzzle wall and brightly coloured tables.
Playgroup manager, Diane Meldrum, said: “The new outdoor classroom will mean we can be outside year round in a safe and exciting environment.”
The garden was designed and built by local joiner Bob Stuart, whose daughter Mya is at the playgroup, with many materials supplied by Ellon Timber.
Bob, who gave up his time and skills for the group, confirmed it was a ‘labour of love’ with the work completed over the Easter break so that the children will get the most out of it as the weather warms up.
