Teachers, children and parents bid a fond farewell to a long-standing member of staff on Thursday afternoon.
A special assembly was held to mark the retirement of Mary McNeil, who has left Auchterellon Primary School after 24 years.
She was presented with flowers and a book filled with messages from pupils by the school’s oldest girl and youngest boy, Amber and Alex.
Some local mums popped in to give Mary flowers to say thank you for her hard work.
Speaking to The Times, Mary said: “The assembly was fabulous and the children were tremendous.
“I am looking forward to retirement but I will miss the school a lot.
“It has been a long time, I have done lots of things, met lots of children and worked with lots of great teachers.”
She added: “I would like to say a big thank you to the parents, teachers and most of all the children for making my last day so memorable.”
