YOUNG Rotarians from Tarves Primary School had their efforts recognised earlier this week, after being presented with certificates by Rotary international for their good work in the community.

The recipients of the ‘Rotary Star’ awards included Young Rotary president Amy, Laura, and Caitlyn, who won their award for using their initiative, and making bracelets for the World Wide Fund for Nature.

They were joined by vice-president James, Stevie, and Cammie, who received recognition of their efforts at educating pupils in Kellands School, Inverurie, about the projects being undertaken by the Tarves RotaKids.

Rotarian Anne Forster said that the awards were well deserved.

She said: “This is the first time in District 1010 that this award has been given. It aims to recognise the good Citizenship of outstanding RotaKids.

“President Amy and Vice President James demonstrated good leadership in two completely different situations. Both teams showed initiative, confidence and caring in achieving significant outcomes to make a difference to others. This was in addition to the other planned projects that all RotaKids do at Tarves.”
