Thank you: Pupils at Slains Primary honoured long-serving school administrator Mrs Cowie last week for her 25 years of service to the school.

A LONG-serving school administrator was honoured last week for her twenty-five years of service to a local primary school.

Pupils, teachers and parents at Slains Primary came together to thank Mrs Cowie for her years of service to the school at a special assembly held in her honour.

Head Teacher Lorna Davidson led tributes at the ceremony along with parent forum chair Sarah Godsen. Pupils presented her with a bracelet, and sang a special song to thank her very much for all that she does for them at the school.

Mrs Cowie, who was also celebrating her birthday, said that the celebration had come as a “total surprise” to her.

“Thank you all very much”, she said. “It’s a pleasure to look after you. I love seeing all your smiley faces. When I’m feeling a bit down, someone always says a cheery ‘Hello Mrs Cowie!’ to me, and that always cheers me up!”
