The Auchterellon Under Fives group received two of the hightest grades possible in its recent Care Inspectorate report.
An Inspector unexpectedly visited the Ellon group on December 16 at its base on Brentfield Circle.
Following the visit, staff were delighted to find out that they received two 5 grades - one for Quality of Care and Support, and one for Management and Leadership.
In the Care Inspectorate report, the Inspector noted that the children were “involved in the development of their environment and own learning opportunities” and that the children were also “confident and happy during play and had built strong relationships with the staff team”.
The Inspector also noted that the group “was involving parents in constant progression of the service to best meet children’s needs”.
The relationship between the staff and children was highly praised as the Inspector noted: “Children were confident in sharing their ideas with staff, which allowed children to be more independent and responsible for the development of their learning.”
The staff themselves also received a glowing review as the Inspector added: “Staff were quality assuring developments in the setting that would benefit outcomes for children.”
Manager Kathryn Mossop said: “We got the results before Christmas so it certainly helped us enjoy our holidays.
“The feedback is fantastic and it’s good to see that all our hard work has payed off but we will keep up the good work and hope to get more 5s in the future.”
