BURNS enthusiasts in Ellon will celebrate a special anniversary on January 27, as the local Burns Club hosts its 25th anniversary Burns Supper.

Founded 25 years ago by former Academy rector and councillor Alan Cameron, the club has hosted speakers including the First Minister. This year, attendees can look forward to an Immortal Memory delivered by Aberdeen and former Scotland Manager, Craig Brown.

Speaking to the Times, Mr Cameron said: “Ellon Burns Club has attracted many notable after-dinner speakers including Charles Kelman, Robert Lovie, Richard Lochhead MSP and First Minister, Alex Salmond, to name but a few. The Club has continued to build on that reputation and we are very pleased to welcome the renowned Aberdeen Football Club Manager, Craig Brown, to deliver the ‘Immortal Memory’ on this landmark anniversary.”
