Ellon is gearing up for a variety spectacular later this month.
The show will be held for the first time in Ellon Academy on Saturday, November 29, at 7pm.
The Variety Special will be headlined by Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall, who will be making a welcome return to the popular fundraiser following his successful appearance in Inverurie two years ago.
Jai is a Scottish singer/songwriter who won the fifth series of Britain’s Got Talent in June, 2011.
As the winner, he received £100,000 and performed at the 2011 Royal Variety Performance.
He released his debut album “Believe” in December, 2011, and is currently working on new material and performing at various events.
There will also be a full line-up of North-east artistes, including champion fiddler Nicola Auchnie, accordionist Steven Eddie, vocalist Chloe Milne from Ellon, the Lawrence Dance company, Ellon Academy cheerleaders and also featured will be comedian Chris Britten.
Proceeds from the show will be in aid of Momentum Disability Services.
They are a leading not-for-profit organisation providing rehabilitation, training and care services for disabled and socially-excluded people throughout Scotland - particularly the North-east.
Momentum’s services help a wide range of people including those with a brain and spinal injuries, mental health problems, physical or learning disability, all in the areas of employment and training, job retention and community rehabilitation.
The organisation’s fundraiser Michael Jamieson said: “We have a fantastic line-up for the next variety special.
“Unbelievably, it happens to be the 56th, but the first one to be held in Ellon.
“As fundraiser for Momentum, I am delighted that our charity will benefit from the event.”
He added: “We have the cream of North-east talent and headlining singing sensation that it Jai McDowall.
“A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed.
“I would advise however, because tickets are limited, please book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets will not be available on the door.”
Tickets cost £12 and to book seats, contact Michael Jamieson on 07739 526531 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
