Ellon’s Victoria Hall is gearing up for another ladies night fundraiser next month.
Ellon Cinema’s Chicago Ladies Night takes place on Friday, November 7 and organisers are hoping for a sell-out success.
After Mamma Mia was screened in May the group decided to hold another musical this time with a 1920s theme.
Organiser Vicki Morgan said £600 was raised towards Ellon Cinema’s Projector Fund at the previous event.
She said: “We had a fabulous turn-out in May with lots of ladies arriving in Abba-style costume, the night was great fun.
“This time around we’ll be giving the Victoria Hall a 1920s make-over. We’ll be screening “Chicago” followed by a fabulous disco hosted by DJ Jenny Angus so we can all dance the night away.
“We’re encouraging everyone to come in costume and bring their own refreshments.”
The hall have been raising funds for their own projector through monthly Cinema Days and Ladies Nights. When funding has been secured it will see the hall in control of what they screen and when.
Vicki added: “We could have themed cinema days such as a whole day screening Star Wars films, hold private screenings for parties, provide film resources for local schools and community groups, even link up to a satellite and beam live opera and concerts into the hall. The choice would be endless and it would be a huge attribute to Ellon.
“This Ladies Night will hopefully help us to add to our funds and get us a step closer to realising our dream. If we can fill the hall with flappers on the night then that would be a bonus! If there are any local businesses who would like to make a donation to the fund or to our raffle on the night please get in touch.”
The event is only for ladies and those over the age of 18.
Tickets are £10 and available from The Chocolate Bar and J&K Shoes with all proceeds going to the Projector Fund.
Doors open at 7pm and the film will start at 7.30pm.
